Akatsuki

Akatsuki™, like the morning sky as the sun breaks the horizon, is a unique series of jewelry featuring diamonds that transform from white to brilliant color. Meaning ‘dawn’ in Japanese, Akatsuki’s™ extraordinary color spectrum is the result of a patented setting technique in which diamonds are set on the outside of a ring and rubies or sapphires are set directly behind them. Light casts the saturated hue of the gem onto the diamond, infusing it for a moment with vibrant color, like a brilliant sunrise.

Akatsuki™ rings are available in Platinum 950 and 18K gold (Yellow, Grey or Red).

Light performance

Each piece of SATORU jewelry begins with a selection of the finest materials available. To maximize the clean movement of light through the gemstones, only high quality, DEF/VS1 diamonds (or higher) and the finest colored gems are used. The quality of the gemstones have a profound effect on light performance and color transmission. When the diamond is viewed head on, light enters the top of the stone and bounces out with a brilliant white sparkle. When viewed at an angle, light penetrates the colored gems. A TOP RED ruby for example, produces a hot red light that is absorbed into and reflected through the diamond. For a moment, the diamond blushes with the essence of the ruby. This optical phenomenon sets the Akatsuki™ apart from any gem setting in the world.
